Living The Dream…

Sooo…

I haven’t blogged in so so so long!!!!! 

Its time to up the game and share with you all my amazing journey(s). 

Sitting at home in the sunshine gave me the realisation on how far my life has come. For the better too! 

Its come up to the year anniversary of TheSkinnyRules powered by JuicePlus. Looking back, its been a whirl wind adventure. Its taken me to places that I never thought was possible and brought me the people never thought existed!! 

12 months ago I had a 9-5 office job, granted it was working within the family business and I did enjoy helping the family empire grow, but it wasn’t where my heart lied. I never really knew where my life was going or what I wanted to do or be. Finding it so hard to find myself. Keen on nutrition and fitness I was never in the right surrounding to fulfil the desire. I wasn’t on the best wage, I just about got by with the lifestyle I had and the things I wanted. It was so so hard saving up for a mortgage, even the simplest things more wealthier people take for granted like filling up your car to the brim without thinking about it. People on the wage I had could afford to put £20-£30 a time in and that would have to do for a couple of weeks. So journeys where limited.
Seemed to always look forward to the next pay day and I was sick of it.

I was intrigued about Juice Plus+ after my brother changed his nutrition around quickly. Now for someone who hadn’t touched fruits and vegetables for years was all of a sudden having them because is body was flooded by the goodness Juice Plus gave him, he was a changed man!! I had to give this a try!! I attended an event, pretty much like you see on Facebook. I wanted to know more and what it could do for people. I come away some amazing health tips I could implement in my life, what Juice Plus did for the body and also how to achieve the best fat loss results. GREAT INFO!! I was buzzing and no one tried to sell me anything it was simply a show and tell!!

That night I went home and demanded my brother ordered me some of the Juice Plus+ Capsules. After a few weeks I noticed huge differences, I was craving more water, eating better foods, more aware of what I was putting into my body, wanting to exercise more, I had more energy, I wanted to work out, My skin improved, My hair got stronger and longer and I felt on top of the world.
I had to share this with other people and I became passionate about getting Juice Plus name out there and get people feeling how I felt. AMAZING!!

After I helped a few people kick start their healthy lifestyles, like I did for myself, it clicked into place and I remembered about a business opportunity with Juice Plus+ I asked my brother if he would sponsor me to be involved and I started my little Juice Plus journey/business helping people like it helped me.
Unfortunately due to Ricks hockey career he couldnt commit and just kept taking the product leaving me to tackle it alone and go full speed. Which I did!!! Rick then came back into the business to help me from a male perspective and help change his life even more!! WHOOOOOP

Every single transition photo, people talking about Juice Plus in the UK, The events we hold was what WE created. Myself and a few other people. We have helped bring Juice Plus to the UK and take over. (Im sorry, well not really). Within 6 months I had recruited more people into my business to help with the demand, I was earning more money, travelling and meeting new people. I felt like the bubble, I was stuck in, had burst and I was free!!!

As I got more and more involved in Juice Plus+ I loved living the healthier lifestyle more and more and wanted to involve more and more people in what I was doing. I felt on top of the world. 

I now help people all over the world get better health and nutrition with that better shape. I now have a team who do the same to help others get better health, nutrition and shape and in turn help them make their dreams come true like mine have.

Anyone who knows me on facebook or twitter knows my story and where I have come from and where I am going. I work very very very hard in what I am doing sometimes I dont get a lot of time to myself as I am helping so many people but its so so so worth it. 

I made my dreams come true by going to LA in April 2013, bought the car & house I wanted and became financially FREE. What that means that those worries I had before, like putting petrol in the car, like going on a good shopping spree, like going away on holiday, like paying the bills.. none of that is a worry!! Why? Because I worked so so hard to build up what I have done, to HELP others.

These are with Juice Plus and little abroad trips with my friends or loved ones.

Because of the life I have now, I am happier, healthier and so looking forward to the future. I no longer have a boring 9-5 job, I work when I want to work, spend time with the people I want to spend time with, earning 10x more the wage I was on, go the places I want to see. Not many people have that opportunity. If someone came to you with the chance to get the life I have, would you turn it down? If you do, your mad!!

I have gained a family, a family that you gain when you help others because of how much you have changed their life. Friends you call family and that are all over the world and close friends that all what the same things in life and not try put you down because you want better things than they do or they are jealous you are going for them. You then realise who those “friends” are and realise the family you have gained are your friends.

Not only that but I met THE LOVE OF MY LIFE through this business. Chris Fielding (you all know him). We met in Rome Nov 2012 and became very good friends. Shared the same interest, hobbies, laughed/cried at the same things, wanted to go to the same places we realised we had to be together. Cannot believe I had met him and I am so lucky to have found him!! 

If you have the opportunity to change your life- DO IT, grab it with both hands and never let go!!! You can BE and DO anything you want in life. If I can do it, miss “nobody”, miss “you walk past me on the street everyday” then YOU can do this too…..

My Day…

No wonder we have over 300 people in our current Juice Plus group eating healthier, losing fantastic amounts of weight on a weekly basis (the natural way) and noticing all the additional benefits of having up to 26 fruit and veg extracts in their daily diet. Little Changes…

I love the complete shakes but wow these add another level to my health and wellbeing.

I swopped on to these 10days ago and using these along side the shakes has doubled and doubled my nutrition intake big time… I feel so much more energised, up at 6am without trouble every day, recover from my daily training sessions better, skin is glowing, crave even more good foods and sleep so much more soundly. Loving the difference using them already converted person from the chewables I used to be on. I learned to suck up taking tablets-  and its the best thing I ever did!!! :-D Never coming off these!!!

                            

Why I dont advise Dairy to my clients…

I get many many of my clients if they can use semi skimmed milk in with the #shake+ program. I always always say NO. Almond, Soya, Rice Milk is THE best alternative!! 

Why?

What Cutting Dairy Out Can Do For You:
Weather you feel that something isn’t right with your diet or you know that something you are eating is causing problems then cutting dairy out should be your first port of call. First off it will give you an indication if dairy is part of the problem. If this is the case then you will know after not too long and you will be able to see how much better you feel without the addition of dairy to your diet and what it can do for your health.

In a recent episode of NBC’s “The Biggest Loser,” one of the trainers told a couple of the contestants that drinking milk would help their weight loss efforts. Well, that’s not true for most people. In fact, regardless of whether or not you need to lose weight, you could probably benefit from dumping dairy from you diet. 

The Problem With Dairy

Even if you put aside issues of animal welfare and the harsh treatment of dairy cows, there are plenty of other reasons to cut dairy from your diet. In fact, a 2005 report on the consumption of dairy from the Harvard School of Public Health states

“The recommendation to drink three glasses of low-fat milk or eat three servings of other dairy products per day to prevent osteoporosis is another step in the wrong direction. … Three glasses of low-fat milk add more than 300 calories a day. This is a real issue for the millions of Americans who are trying to control their weight. What’s more, millions of Americans are lactose intolerant, and even small amounts of milk or dairy products give them stomachaches, gas, or other problems. This recommendation ignores the lack of evidence for a link between consumption of dairy products and prevention of osteoporosis. It also ignores the possible increases in risk of ovarian cancer and prostate cancer associated with dairy products.”

So, not only are you adding unnecessary calories to your diet, but you could be causing your body to have gastrointestinal problems simply from being lactose intolerant and not knowing it.

Dairy has no fiber or complex carbohydrates. In fact, it is a simple carbohydrate (one absorbed very quickly by the body and quickly raises blood sugar and insulin levels). Dairy also contains saturated fat and cholesterol — two things you body does not need more of.

Because of various methods used in obtaining milk from cows, the milk you buy can contain blood from the cow, pesticides, hormones, and antibiotics that were originally given to the cow.

               

Lactose Intolerance

Lactose intolerance is the inability to digest lactose, the sugar found in milk and other dairy products. Your body needs an enzyme, lactase, to break down lactose. When your body can no longer produce this enzyme, you become lactose intolerant. This is different from an allergy. People who are lactose intolerant can have some dairy, but the amount their body can handle will vary. Someone with an allergy to dairy or milk cannot have it at all.

Commonly, the body stops producing the lactase enzyme at around the age of 2. However, many people will not notice symptoms of lactose intolerance until they reach adulthood.

The following ethnicities have a higher incidence of lactose intolerance: African Americans, Hispanic Americans, American Indians, and Asian Americans — the majority of the world’s population if you take into account other countries. In fact, the only group that seems to not be affected by lactose intolerance is Americans of Northern European descent.

Symptoms of lactose intolerance include abdominal pain, abdominal bloating, nausea, diarrhea, and gas. The severity of these symptoms will depend on how much dairy a person can tolerate and can last up to two hours after the digestion of dairy.

This also means that when products like Activia yogurt claim to ease your digestive system in two weeks, that cannot be possible for people who are lactose intolerant because the very consumption of dairy-based yogurt will constantly disrupt their digestive systems.

What This Means for Weight Loss

When we come back to the issue of weight loss and dairy, we have to go back to looking at the nutritional components of milk and other dairy products. As previously stated, milk and other dairy products have no fiber or complex carbohydrates. Both of these are essential to keeping your body feeling full longer and controlling blood sugar and insulin levels. Milk is also a source of saturated fat and cholesterol. And if you’re trying to lose weight, you’re not going to add more of this bad kind of fat and cholesterol to your diet or you put yourself at risk for developing other diseases.

And when it comes to your weight, dairy has twice the calories of carbohydrates. Making the dairy you consume twice as likely to cause weight gain than if you were consuming the same amount of carbohydrates. Extra calories the body cannot use are stored on the body as fat, regardless of their source. But when those extra calories are coming from a high-fat food, you are doing your body a double disservice.

Also, your body can breakdown carbohydrates faster than fat because carbs are the body’s primary fuel source, not fat. The body has a much harder time breaking down fat, so extra fat consumed in your diet is still stored as fat.

The bottom line is that if you are having trouble losing weight or even need to lose a few pounds, especially around the belly area, notice what happens to your body when you consume dairy. Do you experience any of the symptoms listed above? Do you notice relief when you abstain from all dairy products? Observe what you body is trying to tell you and cut the things out of your diet that are keeping you sick and overweight.

TheSkinnyRules Festive Detox: Day Four

After yesterdays hard core work out I was BACK in the studio doing some one to one conditioning. 

Started of with a hearty Breakfast of Juice Plus+ Shake with berries and headed to get my ass kicked… literally!!

I did a boxing session… Boxing is great for over all work out and conditioning especially the arms and core. 

               

             

Makes you get a real sweat going!! 

            

After the work out got a Banana down me a hit the road back to TSR HQ to tackle the day ahead. Always try make time in the morning for a work out, mentally it sets you up for the day and you are more likely to carry on the day eating clean with your happy endorphins now released :-)

Lunch time soon came around especially with not looking at the clock all morning so whipped up some tuna, brown rice and salad

           

This what your plate should be like- 50% salad 25% carbs (brown Rice) 25% meat (fresh tuna).

Its important to get your carb content in with your meals, skipping out carbs completely will only set you back further with your goal. So remember get some even its a minimum of 50g’s a day!!

By 2pm my metabolism was going wild with all my training and needed to fuel my body again so grabbed a handful of nuts and two rice cakes to keep me going!!

Now my evening meal would be delayed till later in the evening with meeting my lovely friend at starbucks for a catch up. Now I learned a valuable lesson today, my friend bought me a hot chocolate with whipped cream… I felt bad she had and couldn’t return it so I swallowed my pride and had it- biggest mistake ever!! An hour later my stomach was telling me off. Even though it had soya milk in it my body rejected it massively and I had the worse stomach pains I had ever had. Dairy does not agree with me at all. Because I cut dairy out of my diet when I do have it its literally a painful experience!! I will blog the reasons why you should cut out dairy from your diet tomorrow, it might open your eyes in doing the same!! 

So popped off to Asda for some groceries, usual lettuce, carrots, humous, salsa (salsa wit tuna is my fave thing ever) and some fajita spice mix. I got some gluten/wheat free wraps and made a couple of healthy fajitas. Definitely felt full after them two!!! And a little guilty so making sure I am going to work extra hard on my next session!!

So after spending a few hours replying to all you lovely people about The Skinny Rules Shake Program and dealing with a few problematic people I sat back and began to reflect on the day and its happenings. I broke down. I am a naturally positive person and try to see the good in the world but without being walked or talked over but with the people I have had to deal with I pretty much have had enough!! Some times it’s ok to cry to let go all the built up tension and sometimes its like a big black rain cloud it dumps its water and the sun shine comes out again… pretty much what I felt. And usually speaking to someone about it always help, never hide away and suffer in silence. After speaking to literally THE best person in the world- I felt better and got some important 8hours sleep ready for the next challenge/chapter in my life… tomorrow.

Remember, positive people do have hard times too you know, but its how we deal with them defines us and separates us from those who use it against people or to grab their attention.
